What you see is What you don't get

After a long drought, I finally ended up with 3 movies this weekend - Mithya, Control and American Gangster.

Though the three movies are totally disconnected, there's something that remains true for each of the 3 movies - All the three movies portrays characters that saw something and wanted to be that something, just to realize later that they didn't want it.

Mithya revolves around a struggling actor, VK who couldn't get a role in a film but ended up with the role of a gangster in real life. He hated it. Starts loving it later. And, then got lost somewhere in between. A very very sad end.

Control remains a well directed biopic based on Ian Curtis (the front man of Joy Division) - his musical journey, the sheer genius in his songs, the pressures he couldn't cope up with, a rocky marriage, an extramarital affair and his suicide at the age of 23!

American Gangster is your regular gangster movie but for the fact the guy who gets the booties this time happens to be a black and not someone from the Italian mafia (very much clichéd & done to death).

But be it VK or Ian or Frank Lucas, none of them never thought that they'll end up like this. All of them started on a path with a focus and a vision. They knew what they wanted. And, they were very determined at it. But then, life has its own twists and turns. You never know where you'll end up.

Maybe, what Shakespeare said remains true for all of us.
All the world's a stage,
And all the men and women merely players;
